Degree Structure

Commencement of studies until summer semester 2011

The Bachelor's degree programme consists of three module blocks. Modules in the first block focus on IT and will be taken together with students of Applied Computer Science. The second block deals with topics in the field of 'Media Communication'. Interdisciplinary modules such as 'Communication' and 'Mathematics' will comprise the third module block.

Exchange semesters are encouraged. Students who decide to study at a university abroad, generally do so during the fifth semester. The prerequisite for this is an equivalent curriculum at the partner university.

The sixth semester is reserved for a practical project and a Bachelor's thesis. The period of practical lasts twelve weeks. The aim of the final dissertation is to demonstrate that the student is capable of working independently through a subject-related topic by applying scientific methods within a nine-week time frame.

Commencement of studies from winter semester 2011/12 on

During the fifth semester, students can chose between a practical semester in a company or study abroad.

The second half of the seventh semester remains reserved for the Bachelor thesis.
