The following position is available in the Department of Environmental Economics/Environmental Law in the subject area "Business and Environmental Law" as of the next possible date:

The tasks of the professorship include teaching and research in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in the field of "Business and Environmental Law" and in other degree programs of the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld. Furthermore, the professors contribute to the profile of the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld in teaching and research.
Well-founded theoretical knowledge and several years of practical experience in the advertised areas of environmental law are expected. The focus is on immission control law, nature conservation law and the law of the circular economy, in each case taking ecological sustainability into account.
In addition, knowledge in the field of energy law planning is desirable.
It is also expected to conduct lectures in English and to support the international orientation of the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld. Commitment in the field of continuing education as well as cooperation in the institutes of the university and in the self-administration are required.

The state of Rhineland-Palatinate and Trier University of Applied Sciences advocate an academic teaching concept in which a high level of teaching presence is expected at the university location.
In addition to the general requirements under civil service law, the minimum recruitment requirements are:
1. a successfully completed university degree,
2. pedagogical aptitude, which is usually demonstrated by experience in teaching, training or by appropriate further training in higher education didactics,
3. special aptitude for academic work, as a rule demonstrated by a qualified doctorate,
4. in addition, special achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods in at least five years of relevant professional practice, of which at least three years shall have been spent outside the higher education sector.
Appointment shall be made to the civil service for life if the relevant service law requirements are met.
