This professorship is advertised as a focus professorship to sharpen and further develop the profile of the Environmental Campus. The teaching load can be reduced to 11 hours per week in the first three years of service. This time can be used to develop teaching innovations, initiate cooperation, intensify transfer relationships or implement research projects.
The field of Mechanical Process Engineering is a central part of the fundamentals of engineering science studies at the Environmental Campus, especially in the Bachelor Studies “Bioprocess, Environmental and Process Engineering”, “Biological and Pharmaceutical Engineering” and “Biological and Pharmaceutical Engineering (dual)” as well as in the Master Studies “Bioprocess and Process Engineering”. The position is supposed to further enhance the leading research position of the University of Applied Sciences Trier in Rhineland-Palatinate in the research focus “Pharmaceutical Technology and Biotechnology”
The future position holder should support the Bachelor and Master studies in the field of Mechanical Engineering and other study courses at the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld and should also dedicate to support their further profile formation. Due to the close professional relationships with the study course “Biological and pharmaceutical Engineering” teaching and research competences in the field of pharmaceutical technology are welcome but not necessary if there are other potentials that can be used to tie in with teaching and research in the discipline of process engineering at the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld.
We expect the future position holder to have a designated scientific competence and practical experience in the field of process engineering, chemical engineering, or other related fields. Therefore, the future position holder should have completed a study in the field of process engineering, chemical engineering, or related fields.
We also expect the future position holder to teach fundamental modules in other study courses at the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld and also to teach courses in English to further enhance the internationalization of the Environmental Campus. We also assume a willingness to participate in advanced training and in self-administration.
