Registration

• Background
  
  To borrow media from the library or to use the inter-library loan service, you must be registered as a library user.
   
• Members of the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld (students, employees)

  
  With your enrollment or employment as a member of the university, you are automatically registered as a library user.

  Your student or service card serves as a library card.

  There are no costs.

• Members of other locations of the University of Trier (students, employees)

  
  Please come with your student or service ID to the information desk of the Library of the Environmental Campus. You will then be registered to our library system.

• External users (non-members of Trier University of Applied Sciences)
  
  Please come to the information desk of the library (opening and service hours). Registration requires a valid ID card. Minors also require a consent from their guardians.
  
  With your registration you accept the library regulations. You can see the rules in the library, where they are posted on the entrance door of the library. They are also available for download on this website.
  
  As an external user you will receive a library card.
  
  Costs:
  
  a) The first issuance of a user card costs 10,00 EUR, each additional copy 20,00 EUR.
  b) The annual usage fee is 12,00 EUR. For beneficiary users (e. g. students, pupils and others) it is 6,00 EUR.
  
  Please note:
  
  External users can only access the contents of the databases licensed by the Trier UAS on library computers.

• Background
  
  You need the library ID and PIN in particular to use the self-check terminals or to open your personal library account.
   
• Members of the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld (students, employees)

  
  a) Your library ID matches your matriculation number (student) or the ID on your service card (staff).

  b) You will receive your library PIN with the welcome letter from the IT-Department. You can change it at any time via the library account.
   

• Members of other locations of the University of Trier (students, employees)
  
  a) Your library ID matches your matriculation number (student) or ID on your service card (staff).

  b) You will receive your library PIN when registering at the information desk.
   

• External users (non-members of Trier University of Applied Sciences)

  
  a) Your library ID is the ID on your library card.

  b) You will receive your library PIN when registering at the information desk.

• Background
  
  To use the PC terminals within the library, you need a user ID. It does not match the library ID and PIN.
   
• Members of the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld (students, employees)
  
  User name and password correspond to your user name and password for the IT infrastructure of the Environmental Campus. The access data was sent to you with the welcome letter of the IT-Department.
   
• Members of other university locations and external users
  
  Please ask for a user ID when registering at the information desk. The assignment of an identifier is only possible after presentation of a valid identity card.

If you have forgotten your PIN, you can easily request a new password via the library catalogue:

1. Open the eBib.
2. Click on "Reset PIN" ("PIN vergessen?") in the top right-hand corner.
3. Enter your user ID / matriculation number and click on "Reset PIN".

You will then receive an e-mail (to your address stored in the library system). Follow the link contained therein to give yourself a new PIN. If you have any questions or difficulties, you can contact the library team.

• Members of the University of Applied Sciences Trier (students, employees)

  
  In case of loss of your student ID card (= library card), please contact the Student Service. If the  service card is lost, contact the HR department.

  Borrowing via the self-check terminals is also possible without a card. To authenticate, use your library user ID.

• External users (non-members of Trier University of Applied Sciences)

  Please inform us of the loss immediately by phone or e-mail, so that we can block your loan account. You will receive a new ID at the information desk of the library. The fees for the new edition are 20,00 EUR.

  Temporary lending via the lending terminals is also possible without a card. To authenticate, use your library user ID.
