This section should help you to troubleshoot frequently encountered errors.

 

Print- and Copy-System

My copy card is not ejected!

Please be patient! The copy card will be ejected automatically after one minute (printers: two minutes) during which no operating actions may be executed. Ejection can also be induced at the reading device by using the cursor key or pushing the "E" key.
If the reading device cannot pull in the copy card properly the card will be ejected automatically after 30 seconds. Even the smallest damage (e.g. a slightly bent card) may prevent the card from being ejected. Please avoid using a damaged copy card.

The printer indicates that it is out of paper!

There is a regular paper refill service for all printers and copiers. First of all, please make sure that the auto paper selection mode is on. In this way the right paper tray is selected automatically. Secondly, please check the paper size status of your computer program. Either DIN-A4 or DIN-A3 should be selected (other formats or sizes cannot be enabled).

If neither of both measures is succesful please contact a member of staff of the computing centre (Building 9917 / upper floor).

The printer indicates a paper misfeed (Papierstau)!

Please contact a member of staff of the computing centre (Building 9917 / upper floor).

 

The print is faulty / The printing costs have been charged incorrectly!

Please contact a member of staff of the computing centre (Building 9917 / upper floor), preferably Mike Decker (Office: 9917 / 112, Direct dialling: 1122).

The copy card is being pulled in and ejected by turns and the output terminal does not react

Please contact a member of staff of the computing centre (Building 9917 / upper floor).

 

Printing via WLAN does not work anymore / The printer is offline!

Unfortunately only Windows is supported. Firstly, please check if the connection with the WLAN „eduroam“ is working. If it is, but the printer is still „offline“ please authenticate your computer at the printing server once again.

 

E-Mail

Accessing via OWA (Webmail) doesn´t work despite the use of the correct login data!

Unsuccessful logins occur most likely when your password is not valid anymore. Every user, no matter if you´re a student or employee is asked to change his or her password once a year. If you missed doing this within a period of 28-days, your password will be deactivated and you have no more access to several services. To avoid this error please do change your password.
