The Deutschlandsemesterticket will be launched on March 1! (Guide below)

After negotiating the contract with the RNN until the very end, the contract will be signed today and the ticket will finally be launched on Friday, March 1, with the start of the summer semester. Here we explain how you can use the new semester ticket.

The so-called Deutschlandsemesterticket will only be available digitally from March 1, 2024. This also means that your student ID card will no longer be a semester ticket and will no longer entitle you to travel within the area of validity of the previous semester ticket. To use the new ticket, you will need the RNN D-Ticket app.

You can find the way to the app in the respective store at d-ticket.rnn.info. There you can enter your personal code, which is available for you on our university portal Studis. The RNN guide to activating the ticket is also linked there and can be found below this article.  As soon as you have completed the steps described there, you can travel on public transport throughout Germany for the entire semester.

Reimbursement:

We are pleased to inform you that we were able to achieve a continuation of the reimbursement option in the contract negotiations. As the student ID card will no longer be usable as a semester ticket in the coming semester, it will not have to be refunded as in the past. At the same time, the reasons for possible reimbursements are changing.

Reimbursement will be possible in the following cases:

1. Study-related stay abroad for at least three months
2. Absence of Leave
3. Enrollment at two universities with a mandatory semester ticket 
4. In the case of severe disability (possession of the supplementary sheet with token of the severely disabled person's ID card needed)

If you would like a reimbursement for the summer semester 2024, please fill out the new form, attach the neccessary documents, sign it and send it to our e-mail address (asta@umwelt-campus.de) by March 14, 2024, together with the relevant supporting documents. Unfortunately, we will not be able to consider applications received after this date, as the necessary information must be implemented in the ticket system. IMPORTANT: Refund requests that have already been received cannot be considered either, as we have to obtain your consent to pass on the necessary data to the RNN for data protection reasons. For a refund, you must also confirm on the form that you have not used and will not use the ticket.
