General Students' Committee (AStA)

About the AStA

The General Students' Committee (AStA) is the acting executive board and the external representing agency of the student body. It is therefore considered the student government and student representative organization

The AStA consists of different positions for various functions. It has a managing-committee which is composed of one chairman/woman, one vice chairman/woman and two finance representatives.

The members of the AStA are proposed by the managing-committee and accredited by the StuPa (Student Parliament). The managing-committee of the AStA is elected by the StuPa. If you are interested in participating in AStA work you are welcome to join our weekly meetings.

Weekly meetings

The AStA meets every week on wendsday at 5:00 pm. Every student is welcome to join. The meetings take place in the Kommunikationsgebäude in Room "Dienstweiler" (1. floor, next to the fitness room).

Applications

Ideas and proposals by students are very welcome. Every student is invited to come to our weekly meetings are share their proposals. You can also apply for financial support if you want to do or get something for students.

Under certain circumstances, the semester ticket fee can be reimbursed in accordance with § 4 of the contribution regulations:

The full amount can be refunded to students who have to stay outside the area of validity for at least three months due to their studies and to students on leave of absence. This can be applied for if the student is in an internship semester, a semester abroad, is writing his or her thesis, is exmatriculated or is severely disabled.

You can download the form for the refund here or pick it up at the AStA office (9914, 0012). You have to hand in the application, a proof and the semester ticket.

Deadline:
Winter semester: 15.09.
Summer semester: 15.03.

You can hand in the applications during the opening hours of the AStA office or send them by mail. The postal address is: AStA Umwelt-Campus Birkenfeld, Campusallee. Postfach 68, 55768 Hoppstädten-Weiersbach (Gebäude 9914).

IMPORTANT: The AStA is not liable for lost ID cards. Even if we keep your IDs safe and send them back to you with your notification, it can unfortunately happen that an ID is lost (e.g. in the mail).

Art Room

Since the summer semester of 2022, the art room has been available to all students. Acrylic, watercolor, and oil paints are available for creative expression, and canvases and easels are provided and can be used.

Transponders for the art room can be borrowed for one semester upon request for a deposit of €50.

The art space is located in the communication building (9938-026). To gain access, simply contact the AStA via email at asta(at)umwelt-campus.de and get started.
