CfP - EnviroInfo 2025: Open Data, Open Science and Open Society for a Sustainable Future

The 39th EnviroInfo Conference will be held in Potsdam, Germany, from the 17th till the 19th of September 2025.

EnviroInfo 2025 is the 39th edition of the long standing and established international and interdisciplinary conference series on leading environmental information and communication technologies. Combining and shaping national and international activities in the field of applied informatics and environmental informatics in making the world a better place for living, the EnviroInfo conference series aims at presenting and discussing the latest state-of-the-art development on ICT and environmental related fields.

Our topic this year is Open Data, Open Science, and Open Society for a sustainable future to promote transparency, collaboration, and inclusivity in addressing global challenges. By freely sharing data and research, we enable innovative solutions and empower informed decision-making. Together, we can foster a sustainable future by uniting communities, researchers, and policymakers for collective action.

As in previous years, there will be two types of publication, Full Research Papers and Short Paper/Work in Progress Papers. Furthermore, a poster submission and a talk only presentation is also possible.

  • Full Research Papers:
    Accepted Full Papers will be published in the Springer book series "Progess in IS: New Trends and Advances in Environmental Informatics". The scope of Full Paper contributions is 15 plus/minus 2 pages. These papers will be peer reviewed on basis of your submission.
  • Short or Work in Progess Papers:
    Accepted Short or Work in Progress Papers will be published in "Lecture Notes in Informatics (LNI), Proceedings - Series of the Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI)". The scope of this paper contributions is 8 pages plus/minus 2 pages. These papers will be peer reviewed on basis of your submission.

  • 23.06.2025 Notification of Acceptance for all Papers
  • 12.07.2025 Deadline Paper Submission (camera ready)
  • 21.07.2025 Deadline Poster and Talk only Submission

Futhermore, in 2025, the Technical Committee on Informatics for Environmental Protection, Sustainable Development and Risk Management of the German Informatics Society will again award the “Environmental Informatics Prize for Students”. This prize (endowed with 2.000 € in total) has been awarded annually since 2003. The winners are invited to present their projects during the EnviroInfo 2025 conference in Potsdam.
