Prof. Dr. Henrik te Heesen is a Professor of Renewable Energy Technologies at the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld of Trier University of Applied Sciences. After studying Physics at RWTH Aachen University, he completed his PhD in Physics at Ruhr University Bochum. He worked as an executive assistant at S.A.G. Solarstrom AG and later led the technical operations management at meteocontrol GmbH.
In 2013, he was appointed Professor at the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld, assumed the leadership of the Bachelor's program in "Renewable Energies," and has been the Director of the Institute for Operational and Technology Management since 2021. In 2021, he served as the Vice Dean of the Department of Environmental Planning/Environmental Engineering and has been the Vice President for Research at Trier University of Applied Sciences since 2022.
Prof. te Heesen's research focuses on energy model development, sector coupling, and energy efficiency in companies and manufacturing processes. He is a member of various professional institutions and was awarded the Teaching Prize of Trier University of Applied Sciences in 2018. His publications primarily focus on energy model development and studies on energy efficiency.
