Flying Days

Introduction week Flying Days from the 29th of September to the 2nd of October 2020

The introduction week Flying Days for first year students of the environmental campus Birkenfeld offers a variety of orientational and informational events, such as:

  • Introduction of the most important services and contact persons on the campus
  • An introduction to academic work and study (studying – the right way)
  • A campus tour as well as an introduction to using the library

At the heart of this week is your participation in the workshops on offer, which will give you the chance to meet your fellow students.

Please note that participation in the Flying Days is mandatory for all first-year bachelor students.

In light of the current situation, the event will be split according to study courses into two seperate welcoming events on seperate days. 

On the following list you wil find which dates apply to your course. Please note that you can only participate on the dates assigned to your course!

Tuesday, 29.09.2020 and Wednesday, 30.09.2020
from 9am - 4pm

  • All master students (except IMAT)
  • Environmental Economics and Business Management
  • Sustainable Resource Management
  • Biological and Pharmaceutical Engeneering
  • Bioprocess, Environmental and Process Engeneering
  • Computer Sciences (Applied Camputer Science, Media Informatics, Environmental Informatics and Business Information Systems)

Thursday, 01.10.2020 und Friday, 02.10.2020

The welcome event will take place on 01.10.2020 at 9 o'clock in front of the communication building (building 9938).

Important Information on visiting the event

Please bring your own face mask. You may only enter the campus with a face mask covering mouth and nose.

Contact tracing
The university uses its own contact tracing app 'intake' to record your attendance of the event. Please visit the following website to generate your personal QR-code before you arrive at the campus and save it on your smartphone/ tablet or bring a print out: Your QR-code will be scanned during the event.
