Troubleshooting (FAQ)

Häufig auftretende Probleme:

  1. Since after the transition problems occur while retrieving E-mails via POP/IMAP!
  2. Accessing via OWA (Webmail) doesn´t work despite the use of the correct login data!

1. Since after the transition problems occur while retrieving E-mails via POP/IMAP!

The new E-mail system requires the utilisation of an encrypted connection (SSL/TLS) to retrieve E-mails (this protects your login data especially the password from espionage). If problems occur while trying to retrieve your E-mails, please check the account settings of your E-mail program and change the settings accordingly.

 

2. Accessing via OWA (Webmail) doesn´t work despite the use of the correct login data!

Unsuccessful logins occur most likely when your password is not valid anymore. Every user, no matter if you´re a student or employee is asked to change his or her password once a year. If you missed doing this within a period of 28-days, your password will be deactivated and you have no more access to several services. To avoid this error please do change your password.
