Bioprocess and Process Engineering

Degree Structure

This Master's programme is based on a modular structure. Interdisciplinary modules in mathematics, electrical engineering, physics and chemistry cover fundamental topics in the natural sciences. The modules 'Process Automation' and 'Process Engineering' cover subject-specific, in-depth content and will be complemented by project work and elective modules. The integration of current, research-oriented topics such as 'New Materials', 'Micro Process Engineering', 'On-line Measuring Methods for disperse systems' and elective modules in non-technology related areas, e.g. 'Material Flow Management', enable students to choose sophisticated foci.

The fourth semester is reserved for the Master's thesis. With the final dissertation students demonstrate their ability to independently resolve a subject-related problem by applying scientific research methods within a given time frame. Students generally complete their thesis within six months.
