Set-Up a Wi-Fi Connection under Android
This instruction describes the steps you have to take to successfully connect your Android device to the Wi-Fi of the Umwelt-Campus Birkenfeld.
The instruction has been made exemplary on a Samsung Galaxy S6 edge (Android 6.0.1). However, the steps should be identical on every Android device.
First of all, it is necessary to save the certificate on your mobile phone. The certificate is available via the following link:
Once the upload is completed, go to “Settings” -> “Wi-Fi” -> “MORE” and select “Install network certificates”
A new window pops up, where you can choose the certificate that has to be installed. Hit “DONE”.
In the window popping up after you can set any name for the certificate. After changing it to the desired name please hit “OK”.
Now navigate to “Settings” -> “Wi-Fi” again and select “eduroam”
The device now asks you to fill out your login data. Please select the following settings: “EAP-method -> PEAP”, “Phase 2 authentication -> MSCHAPV2”, “CA certificate -> name of the certificate you just downloaded and eventually renamed”, “Identity -> your username plus @umwelt-campus.de”, “Password -> your password”. Then hit “Connect”.
The device has been successfully connected to the Wi-Fi.
