Set-Up a Wi-Fi Connection under Android
This instruction describes the steps you have to take to successfully connect your Android device to the Wi-Fi of the Umwelt-Campus Birkenfeld.
The instruction has been made exemplary on a Smartphone running Android 8. However, the steps should be identical on every newer Android device.
First of all, on older Android versions it is necessary to save the certificate on your mobile phone. The certificate is available via the following link:
In the window popping up after you can set any name for the certificate an. After changing it to the desired name and the choice of “Wi-Fi” please hit “OK”.
Now navigate to “Settings”, “Wi-Fi” and select “eduroam”
The device now asks you to fill out your login data. Please select the following settings: “EAP-method” - PEAP, “Phase 2 authentication”- MSCHAPV2, “CA certificate ” - Use system certificates (if not available use the name of the certificate you just downloaded and eventually renamed), “Domain” - radius.umwelt-campus.de, “Identity” - your username plus @umwelt-campus.de, “Anonymous identity” - firstname.lastname@example.org “Password” - your password. Then hit “Connect”.
The device has been successfully connected to the Wi-Fi.
