Set-Up a Wi-Fi connection with Windows
This instruction describes the steps you have to take to successfully connect your Windows laptop or PC to the Wi-Fi of the Umwelt-Campus Birkenfeld.
The instruction has been made exemplary with Windows 7 64-bit. However, the steps should be identical on every Windows 7 version as well as Windows Vista versions (32-bit and 64-bit).
On Windows 8.X or higher versions (including Windows 10) you only need to select the Wi-Fi “eduroam” and enter your login data (including “@umwelt-campus.de”). Then hit “Connect” and you will be successfully connected to the Wi-Fi without having to take any further steps.
To make it as easy as possible for you to successfully connect to the Wi-Fi, we have provided a link for you where you can download a set-up file which performs the necessary steps independently (administrator privileges absolutely necessary).
As soon as the download is completed, navigate to your download file and start the set-up file by double clicking.
If you´re currently signed in as an administrator, you have to accept the execution by hitting “Yes”. Otherwise you will have to enter the administrator password.
The set-up file now installs all necessary certificates and imports the required Wi-Fi profile in the background.
After this is done, you will be asked to enter your login data.
In the field “username” please type in your username (you need to add @umwelt-campus.de). In the field “password” please enter your password.
Confirm your entry by clicking “Connect”.
The Wi-Fi has been successfully connected.
