Production Technologies

The course provides vocational training for industrial mechanics, combined with a Bachelor of Engineering degree course with a focus on production technology. Students of this programme thus graduate with two Europe-wide recognised qualifications (vocational and academic degrees).

The key feature of the dual degree programme is the cooperation between industrial enterprises, chambers and vocational schools in the region, as well as the
Wittlich Training Centre (Überbetriebliches Ausbildungszentrum Wittlich ÜAZ) and the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld (UCB), Trier University of Applied Sciences.

Methodical exchange between theoretical and practical phases and excellent
coordination between the partners lead to first-class academic - as well as professional - qualifications.

Therefore, a dual degree programme combines in-depth academic studies with practical, hands-on experience. This combination of fundamental, scientific principles and practice-oriented training significantly facilitates students’ career entry. The well-coordinated rotation between periods of study and work results in a shorter over-all course duration and a smooth transition from student life to working life. During the non-academic training phases, students receive a salary, thus benefiting from financial security. In the past our students have encountered excellent job and career opportunities upon graduation.
