Admission Requirements for Foreign Applicants

Bachelor´s and Master´s Degree Programmes

Applicants with certificates/degrees of non-German schools or universities must submit their application for review of their university entrance qualification to the service facility “uni-assist” in Berlin.  Direct application to Trier University of Applied Sciences via the online portal is not possible except for the Bachelor program Sustainable Business and Technology.

  • The universities are solely responsible for student counseling

Language Requirements

Degree Programmes in German Language

Proof of knowledge of the German language:

  • German Language Certificate of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in der Federal Republic of Germany, Level II.
  • German language proficiency examination, minimum level:  DSH 2
  • Exam: German as a foreign language for foreign applicants (TestDaF). The applicant must pass all four parts of the exam with a grad 4 TestDaF level or above. 
  • Feststellungsprüfung: Exam which testifies to a student’s knowledge and ability to take up a degree course of study at a university in the Federal Republic of Germany.
  • Das Große and das Kleine Deutsche Sprachdiplom (GDS and KDS) as well as the certificate C1 and the ZOP Certificate (Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung) of the Goethe Institute.
  • German Language Exam Level II of the Munich Institute of Language and Interpreting (Sprachen- und Dolmetscher-Institut München).
  • C1 exam of the Trier University of Applied Sciences.
  • C1 exam of the Trierer Language school TASI

Non-enrolled students

Persons who wish to receive further education in individual areas of knowledge can be admitted on request as non-enrolled students in the context of existing study places.
