Issuing the student ID card (chip card)

The student ID card is a multifunctional chip card with a payment function that can be used as a student ID card and library card. The chip card is required to activate the university ID.

Chip cards are issued at the Infopoint room 24/035 during opening hours.
For first-time students, the card is available at the beginning of the semester at the earliest (SS 01.03.; WS 01.09.).

The student ID card must be revalidated each semester. Validation can be carried out after re-registration (receipt of the semester fee by the university).

Please note:

From the summer semester 2024 (01.03.2024), the chip card is no longer a semester ticket!
The Deutschlandsemesterticket will only be available digitally from March 1, 2024. You will need the RNN D-Ticket app.
