 – An Insider’s Perspective on Challenges and Intercultural Communication

Mona Hafez, Head of Project in the program “Successful in Senegal” at GIZ - Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH is a mentor, advisory board member, and an expert for international cooperation. She also has considerable expertise in the cultural and creative industries. Having 10 years of professional experience in international organizations in Germany and abroad, she worked for the German Federal Foreign Office, the Goethe Institute, the International and Specialized Services (ZAV) of the Federal Employment Agency, and with the European Union.

She currently is Head of Project for the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) in Dakar, where she leads a team of 20 people.

Mona Hafez focuses on migration, employment promotion, vocational training, and diversity. In addition, she has been a member of the advisory board of the Elisabeth Käsemann Foundation for many years. The foundation is committed to promoting human rights and an international dialogue for remembrance and democracy. Mona Hafez regularly lectures at the Institute for Political Science at Tel Aviv University.
