Sustainable. Innovative. Digital. The undergraduate courses at the Umwelt-Campus combine the topics of environment and sustainability, which are examined from a technical, economic or legal perspective. The proximity to practice and companies while at the same time linking up with innovative and research-related topics is a major goal of the training in small groups. State-of-the-art ecological building and plant technology are the hallmarks of the location. The campus is internationally networked, with the power of strong, regional roots.
The Environmental Campus Birkenfeld is a campus of the University of Applied Sciences in Trier and in December 2019 repeatedly established itself in the world ranking as the greenest campus in Germany (6th place in the GreenMetric Ranking) and remains nationally in the third year in first place. In addition, in 2020 it achieved a top position nine times in the ranking of the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE).
Students can expect an exciting working environment with a special focus on key competencies, practical training, mutual understanding, innovative learning culture and internationality.
Compact information on the campus can be found in the Campus Presentation (PDF) for viewing and downloading.
Due to the current situation, lectures and seminars in the current summer semester are not held as face-to-face events at the Umwelt-Campus but online. Exceptions only apply to approved internships, laboratory exercises and workshops as well as examinations and oral exams. For the winter semester 2020/2021 it is planned to hold as many lectures as possible in attendance - the winter semester starts on 28 September with the introductory lectures (Flying Days from 29.09.2020) for freshmen.
