Study Exchange Program “Sustainable Business and Law”

We also welcome international students, even if they are applying on a voluntary basis rather than as part of a student exchange program—so-called “free movers”. This may be the case if applicants have already completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree or have not yet begun their studies.

When applying as a “free mover,” students are treated as regular students rather than visiting students. Therefore, they must meet the academic admission requirements for studying at German universities.

Here you can find the course catalogue from which you can put together your own individual program.  The option of specialising (either Sustainable Business or Sustainable Law) is of course also available, depending on your choice of subjects. This will then be indicated in your certificate.

Shortly before the beginning of the semester, the course times will be published. Here you can check when your courses will take place and compile your final schedule.

You choose the courses you would like to take with us before your studies begin. You enter the selected courses in the learning agreement. The course catalogue and the module description will help you to select your courses.

After your arrival at the university, there will be an introductory event (summer mentoring in the summer semester/Flying Days in the winter semester). There we will assist you with course registration in our study portal Stud.IP (our learning management system). In addition, our buddies of the Buddy-Program will help you with any questions you may have about starting your studies. 

Participants in the program will study on our modern campus with over 2,500 other students of environmental business, law, sustainable science, information and media technology.

There is also the possibility of living directly on campus in one of the dormitories. All student apartments are reasonably priced. They come fully equipped and provide high-speed internet access as well as being connected to our university intranet.
We have reserved a limited number of rooms/apartments in the halls of residence for exchange students. Please send us a message if you are interested in accommodation in a dormitory. We will then assign you a room for a maximum of one semester. If we cannot give you a room, you will have to arrange your own accommodation.

The university does not charge a tuition fee for the Study Exchange Program. Students will have to pay a 300 Euros administration fee (does not apply to students from partner universities) per semester and a semester fee of approx. 350 Euros per semester that also allows free public transport throughout Germany.

Students will enjoy the benefits of our “buddy concept”, with German students providing individual help in getting orientated and integrated in campus life.

We will confirm the receipt of your application via e-mail. Provided your qualifications have been assessed as sufficient, we will then issue a university admission letter with further information. Please assume that the assessment of your documents may take up to six weeks, depending on the applicant situation.

Please take care of the following points in good time: 

• Visa application (Please use the official admission letter to apply for a visa at the German embassy in your home country.)
• Proof of financial resources
• Proof of health insurance
• Accomodation

We will also inform you in due time about further necessary steps and important dates around the start of your studies at our university.

If you want to study in our faculty to obtain a German university degree, you should inform yourself about our degree programs Sustainable Business and Law (B.A.) or Sustainable Business and Technology (B.Eng.).
