Protecting the climate together, working as a team to find new solutions to technical questions about hydropower, wind and solar energy, and getting paid well for it? The Environmental Campus Birkenfeld and the Trier University of Applied Sciences offer attractive study programs to actively participate in the energy transition.
With around 7,100 students, Trier University of Applied Sciences is the second largest university for applied sciences in Rhineland-Palatinate. A strong focus on application and practice, innovative teaching methods, and the strong combination of teaching and research characterize our studies. On three campuses we offer 80 degree programmes in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building and Supply Engineering, Food Technology, Computer Science, Games, Therapy Sciences, Economics, Law, Environmental Studies, Architecture, and Design, thus presenting a diverse educational programme unique in the region.
Green Energy degree programs are offered at the two university locations, the Main Campus Schneidershof in Trier and the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld.
Content: Based on interdisciplinary thinking, structure the industry and the energy sector in sustainable development. The training aims to provide graduates with the essential basic qualifications in engineering and economics in a relatively short course of study leading to professional qualification. Elective courses offer the opportunity to further supplement and deepen this knowledge in terms of content or acquire a broader qualification profile through thematically different methods.

Content: When it comes to climate protection, the government is focusing primarily on renewable energies and efficient energy systems. The energy transition presents us with the challenge of making the provision of electricity, heat and energy smart and sustainable. How can we provide energy in a CO₂-neutral way? Which processes and procedures in industry do we need to optimize? How can renewable energy be generated intelligently and sustainably?
The intelligent generation, storage and distribution of energy is currently determining the future of an entire industry. Students in the Energy Technology - Regenerative and Efficient Energy Systems program learn to develop sustainable energy systems and to work on our climate goals with innovation.
